Policies & FAQs

Everything you need to know before your appointment

Permanent Makeup

Yes. Natural is the standard here. Our work is about enhancement, not transformation. We refine symmetry, restore balance, and enhance your natural features so everything looks soft, effortless, and undetectable.

Permanent makeup for brows, lips, and eyeliner require 2 appointments – the initial appointment and the Touch-Up appointment.  Your initial appointment is where we design the shape and implant the custom pigment. A mandatory touch-up 4–5 weeks later perfects the color, shape, and overall result once the skin has healed. The second session is where the results are perfected.

Healing is very manageable and expected and you can go out in public. The area will appear slightly darker and more defined for the first few days, then gradually soften as it heals. Light flaking may occur, but most clients continue their normal daily routine without issue. Final results are visible once the skin fully heals, and a perfecting touch-up is done at your follow-up appointment.

Aftercare is 50% your responsibility and 50% ours.

We handle the technique, precision, color selection, and overall design. You, as the client, are responsible for following aftercare exactly as instructed.  We provide a complete aftercare kit and clear, week-long guidelines. Proper aftercare is essential for healing, pigment retention, and your final results, for both your initial appointment and your Touch-Up.

Botox should not be done for 4 weeks before and after your permanent makeup appointment. As permanent makeup artists, we prefer to work with your natural brow shape, brow bone structure, and our measurements to create the most balanced and flattering result possible.

We recommend you avoid makeup on the area for at least 2 weeks. You may wear makeup elsewhere as long as you avoid contact with the permanent makeup you got.

Brows: 1–3 years
Lip Blush: 2–4 years
Eyeliner: 3–5 years
Results vary based on skin type, sun exposure, lifestyle, age and aftercare. Most clients come in for a subtle touch-up once a year to keep it fresh.

Discomfort is minimal. We use high-quality numbing lidocaine before and throughout your appointment to keep you comfortable. Most clients are surprised by how little they feel during the procedure.

Photos of prior permanent makeup are required before booking.

Please email clear photos in natural lighting (preferably outdoors), including a front view and both 3/4 angles to info@broweyedgirl.com for assessment.  Not all previous work can be corrected. In some cases, removal may be required and we may not be able to work over existing permanent makeup depending on the depth, saturation, color, and overall quality of the existing work.

This is completely normal. We intentionally keep the first session soft so your brows heal natural, not heavy or overdone. Most of the initial pigment fades, and your 4-5 week touch-up is where we build the color, refine the shape, and lock in the final result.

Brow Services

Yes. We tweeze and trim brows only. No waxing. No threading. Tweezing and trimming is by far the most precise and consistent method of brow hair removal as it maintains the most accurate, fullest, long-lasting results. Our brow shaping services are the New Girl Brow (includes brow shaping) and the Love at First Sight Brow (includes brow shaping and tint).

For brow shaping, we recommend every 4–6 weeks to maintain a clean but full shape.

Tweezing removes the entire hair from the root, which allows for a slower, softer regrowth compared to waxing or threading, helping your shape last longer and stay more consistent over time.

Tinting is a custom stain designed to enhance the depth and fullness of your brows.  Think of it as a soft background that fills in gaps and adds definition where needed. It makes brows appear fuller and more structured without makeup. The tint typically lasts up to 3 weeks, depending on your skin type and lifestyle.

Lip Blush

Extremely natural.  Lip blush heals soft and sheer, never heavy or opaque. We do not offer harsh, lipstick or lip liner results. The lips settle into a natural-looking tint that enhances shape and definition. The only real downtime is mild swelling for about 12 hours after the procedure.

No, not at all.  Lip blush gives your lips a soft, natural-looking tint, not a heavy or opaque color. It enhances shape, symmetry, and definition while still looking like your lips.  You can absolutely wear any lipstick or gloss over it. Think of it as a better base, everything you apply will look smoother, more even, and more defined.

Lip blush enhances without altering your natural features.  It improves symmetry, defines the lip border, and adds a natural-looking tint that brings life back to the face, especially if your natural color has faded or there’s little distinction between the lips and surrounding skin.

Lips with lip blush appear more balanced and subtly fuller, without the heaviness or overfilled look that can come with filler. Lip filler can also be less predictable in how it settles, while lip blush heals into a soft, controlled, and consistent result.

It’s a long-lasting, low-maintenance way to look more polished every day without constant upkeep.

The only true downtime is mild swelling for about 12 hours immediately after the procedure. Lips may feel slightly dry and appear a bit more defined for a few days, with light flaking as they heal. Keeping lips hydrated with a balm and drinking plenty of water helps maintain the results and overall lip health before and after your procedure.  Most clients return to normal daily activities right away. The lips settle into a natural tint yet gives a pop of color within 3 to 5 days.

Permanent Eyeliner

Eyelash enhancement is a soft, invisible line along the lash line making it appear as though you have fuller lashes, for a subtle and natural look. Shaded eyeliner is a smokey/smudged or defined eyeliner (wing is optional) to visually lift the eyes, creating a brighter and more expressive look.

Permanent eyeliner adds instant definition and brings a natural “pop” to the eyes.  By enhancing the lash line, lashes appear fuller and darker, so many clients find they barely need mascara anymore. It creates a polished, awake look from the moment you wake up, without smudging or daily effort.

It’s very manageable. Most clients describe it as a light tickling or vibrating sensation along the lash line. With numbing used throughout the service, it’s not considered painful, just slightly unusual at first. Your eyes remain closed and relaxed the entire time, and the artist has full control of the eyelid to ensure precision, stability, and safety throughout the procedure.

Permanent Makeup

To properly prepare for your permanent eyebrow appointment:

  • You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding (unless you have your doctor’s written approval)
  • For best results, you MUST lightly exfoliate your eyebrows starting 3 days PRIOR to your appointment.
  • NO caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment
  • NO blood thinners (Aspirin, Fish oil, Turmeric, Vitamin E, Niacin, Ibuprofen, prescription blood thinners, etc…) 24 hours prior to your appointment
  • NO alcohol 48 hours prior to your appointment
  • NO tanning 1 week prior to appointment
  • NO antibiotics 2 weeks prior to appointment
  • Facials, lasers, peels, waxing, or exfoliations should not take place for 2 weeks before and after your appointment
  • Please pause any anti-aging or acne products near and around your brows for 2 weeks before and after your appointment.
  • NO Retinol, harsh acids, or eyebrow growth serum 3 weeks prior to appointment
  • NO Botox 4 weeks prior to appointment

Follow these steps to ensure the best healed results:

Please pause any exfoliating anti aging/acne products (retinoids, glycolics, vitamin C, AHA/ BHA, enzyme washes, serums, etc.) near and around your brows area at least 2 weeks prior to your session and 2 weeks after for best healed results.
Any treatments such as facials, lasers, peels, waxing, botox, tinting, etc should also take place 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after your appointment.  Mild soreness, tenderness, and tightness in the brow area the day of your procedure is completely normal.

Instructions:
Day of the Procedure:

  • You may take Advil or Tylenol today if the area feels tender. Mild soreness is completely normal and will ease throughout the day,
  • Please change your pillowcase tonight. A fresh, clean pillowcase helps protect the area from bacteria while your skin is at its most delicate stage.
  • Keep the area clean, avoid touching, and follow all aftercare instructions exactly as directed to ensure a beautiful, even heal.
  • Keep your brows dry for 7 days → the day of your initial procedure counts as Day 1
  • No sweating into the brows or swimming for 10-14 days.
  • Use the provided shower shields for the shower to help keep the water from hitting your brows. If you have oily skin, use an alcohol pad to wipe the area of your forehead to ensure the shield sticks properly.

Days 2-6:

  • Begin by washing your hands.
  • In the evening of Day 2 after your procedure, use a pea-size amount of the provided balm, and apply a sheet layer to your brows with the applicator stick or a q-tip provided. (Do not use your fingers to apply the balm, due to bacteria) You will continue this step for 5 nights total.

Avoid During Healing:

  • NO Sun exposure or tanning
  • NO Facials, peals, or exfoliations
  • NO Sweating or intense workouts
  • NO water or swimming, saunas, steam
  • Do NOT apply makeup, skincare, or sunscreen directly on brows
  • Do NOT touch, pick, or scratch the brows. Treat them like you would an open wound. Picking at the scabs can pull off the pigment from the skin.
  • If you currently use RETINOL and/or TRETINOIN on your face, do NOT apply either product from now until after your Touch-Up appointment.
What to Expect During & After Your Brow Appointment:
  • Every individual heals differently which may result in color loss and patchiness AFTER your initial session. This is NORMAL. Do NOT expect your brows to heal perfectly after the first session.
  • All permanent makeup applications require 2 SESSIONS
The Healing Process:
  • Directly After: Brows appear bold and have redness, the intensity of redness can vary for each individual. They may feel tender. Keep clean and dry, do not touch your eyebrows!
  • Days 1-3: Brows will appear the darkest and most defined throughout the healing process.
  • Week 1-2: You will start to experience the brow scabbing phase. Your brows will look dry/flakey and sometimes feel itchy. Do NOT pick your scabs, let them fall off naturally. It is normal for some pigment to come off with the scabs during the healing process. This is because the scabs can become attached to the pigment underneath the skin when they form quickly.
  • Week 3: Scabs are done peeling, and brows will look significantly lighter after the peeling process. The lightness can vary for each individual.
  • Week 4:
    • Initial Appointment: Your brows are in the final stage of healing and will appear softer. After your initial procedure, it is normal for 70-80% of the pigment to fade. This is not your final result. The Touch-Up appointment will focus on patchy areas and darkening the color of your brows.
    • Touch-Up Appointment: After your touch-up appointment, this is the true final result. The pigment has settled, the shape is refined, and the pigment saturation has been reinforced. Brows should look soft, balanced and complete while still natural.

Lip Blush

For best results, begin preparing your lips 5-7 days before your appointment:

  • Gently exfoliate your lips nightly (lip scrub, soft toothbrush, or baking soda paste) and immediately apply a hydrating balm or lip mask (Aquaphor).
  • Keep lips consistently moisturized and drink plenty of water daily. Dehydration shows first in the lips.

Before your lip blush appointment:

  • NO alcohol 72 hours prior to your appointment
  • NO caffeine, blood thinners, or exercise 24 hours prior to your appointment
  • NO antibiotics within 2 months of your appointment
  • NO lip filler, Botox, or injections within 4 weeks of your appointment
  • NO chemical peels or deep exfoliation within 2 weeks of your appointment
  • NO pregnancy or breastfeeding (unless written physician approval is provided)
  • NO lipstick or lip products the day of the appointment, except a clear moisturizing balm

Cold Sore Precaution (Required):

If you suffer from cold sores or have even had 1 cold sore, you MUST take an antiviral medication (such as Acyclovir), 3 days prior to your appointment, the day of your appointment, and 3 days after your appointment to help prevent outbreaks and complications.

Optional, but recommended: Arnica Montana taken 3-5 days before your appointment may minimize bruising and swelling.

Please bring your favorite lipstick or gloss to help guide your desired healed color. If not, your artist will custom create a shade based on your undertones.

Follow these steps to ensure the best healed results:

Instructions & What to Expect:
* Most Importantly…ensure you are consistently hydrating and applying balm! *

Days 1-2:

  • Following the procedure, your lips will most likely be swollen…no worries, this is completely normal! The swelling can last between 24-48 hours.
  • For the first few hours, frequently wipe away any lymph fluid (clear fluid) that appears as part of your body’s natural healing response, this is normal. After the first few hours, please apply the provided balm at least three times a day to avoid letting your lips dry out.
    • If you run out of the provided ointment, Aquaphor is an alternative balm you can use on your lips during the healing process.
  • When drinking, please use a straw to avoid any potential contamination to your healing lips. After each meal, gently rinse and clean your lips with water, then dry them with a clean paper towel, and finally re-apply the balm.

Days 3-6:

  • At this stage in the healing process, your lips will begin to feel dry and start peeling.
  • Do NOT pick your lips. Instead, let the flaking happen naturally.
  • You can help mitigate the appearance of dryness by consistently hydrating your lips with the provided balm or Aquaphor.

Week 2:

  • Your lips are no longer peeling, the color is lighter and you can resume your normal routine.
  • Your lips will continue to fully heal for up to 6 weeks. Each week more color will surface; however, it is still very important to keep the lips hydrated to ensure the best healed final result.

During your Touch-Up appointment, we will assess how your lips healed, reinforce any areas where the color healed lighter, and perfect the overall color, shape, and saturation of the lips.

  • Final healed results after the touch-up are typically visible around 4 weeks post-procedure.
  • Please follow the exact same aftercare instructions after your touch-up appointment.
Avoid During Healing:
  • NO direct sun exposure
  • NO lipstick or lipgloss on the lips (besides balm) until fully healed (about 10 days)
  • NO facial treatments
  • NO abrasive materials such as towels on the lips
  • NO whitening toothpaste
  • Do NOT pick at your lips

Eyeliner & Lash Enhancement

To properly prepare for your permanent eyeliner appointment:

  • NO lash extensions at the time of your procedure AND for 2 weeks after your appointment
  • NO alcohol 24 hours prior to your appointment
  • NO caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment
  • NO tanning 1 week prior to appointment
  • NO blood thinners (Aspirin, fish oil, turmeric, Vitamin E, Niacin, Ibuprofen, prescription blood thinners, etc…) 48 hours prior to your appointment
  • NO Botox 4 weeks prior to appointment in eye area
  • NO Retinol products 4 weeks prior to appointment in eye area
  • NO antibiotics 2 months prior to appointment
  • If you wear contacts, you will be asked to remove them for the time of your appointment. Remember to bring your glasses to your appointment. *

Follow these steps to ensure the best healed results:
We recommend allowing your eyes to DRY HEAL for 1 week.

Instructions & What to Expect:
Day of Appointment:

  • After the procedure, eyes may be puffy/swollen with heavy lids and possible light sensitivity. Sleeping in a slightly elevated position can also reduce any residual swelling of the eyes.
  • Ice packs can be applied for 10 minutes each hour for the first 4-8 hours following the procedure. The ice is used to reduce swelling and provide comfort.

Days 1-10: The treated area may experience the following symptoms for 1 to 10 days after the treatment, which are all common and will dissipate in a short period of time: redness, minimal swelling, tenderness, flaking, dryness, possible itching.

Days 1-2: Eyes may be swollen and perhaps a bit crusty upon waking. If swelling is prevalent, swelling will reduce after being in an upright position, blinking, and increased circulation to the area. Eyes will be less swollen but will feel tight. The lash area will feel sore if touched.

Days 3-4: The top layer of skin will begin to flake off. Do NOT pick the skin – you will pull the pigment out and end up with uneven color. Blinking helps eliminate the small pieces of pigment that have detached. It is important not to pick at the pigment or rub the eyes.

Days 7-9: All shedding should be complete. You are safe to shower facing the shower head. During this time, the pigment may appear to have vanished. This is a normal part of the healing process, and the pigment will re-emerge.

Day 10: Pigment, if it faded, should have returned. What you see now is very close to the healed result. If it is not as you like, please wait the final 4 weeks and return for a touch-up procedure.

Avoid During Healing:
  • Do NOT use contact lenses for 48 hours.
  • Use a fresh pillowcase. Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.
  • NO direct water, swimming, saunas, steam, sweating, long hot showers, or excessive heat for 10 days.
  • NO rubbing, picking, scratching, or touching the eyes. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away.
  • NO eye makeup, mascara, lash curlers, lash extensions, contact lenses, or lash growth serums until healed.
  • NO acids, exfoliants, Retinol, Vitamin A, facials, lasers, peels, or treatment near the eye area for 4 weeks.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning during healing.
